Note: This feature is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Kaleidoscope's AI Integration lets you connect an AI assistant — like Claude — directly to your Kaleidoscope account, so you can ask questions about your applications, reviews, and disbursements in plain language instead of building a custom integration or exporting reports. It uses your existing Kaleidoscope login, so there's no API key to generate or manage.
In this article, we'll cover:
What the MCP integration does
Connecting an AI assistant
What you can ask it
Confirm your account is on an eligible plan (see note above)
In your AI assistant, go to Settings and find the section for connectors or integrations — the exact name depends on the product (e.g. "Connectors" in Claude, "Connected Apps" in ChatGPT, "Integrations" in Copilot).
Note: Process may be different depending on the provider.
Select Add, then enter the Kaleidoscope MCP URL: https://public-api.mykaleidoscope.com/mcp
Select Connect. When prompted, sign in with your Kaleidoscope account — there's no separate key or token to paste.
Once connected, you can start asking questions about your Kaleidoscope data directly in the assistant.
What you can ask
Once connected, you can ask natural-language questions- things like how many applications are currently in review, or what the average score was for a review round. Answers include links back to the relevant record or page in Kaleidoscope, so you can jump straight to the source.
Common Questions
What is MCP, and why would I use it?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants connect directly to your data. Instead of exporting a report or asking someone to pull numbers, you can ask an assistant like Claude about your Kaleidoscope data directly.
Which AI assistants can I connect?
Any AI assistant that supports MCP connections — including Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot.
Will my Kaleidoscope data be used to train AI models?
Kaleidoscope doesn't use your data to train AI models. But when your assistant pulls data from Kaleidoscope, that data is handled under your AI provider's terms. Depending on your plan and settings, some providers may use it to improve their models. This is most common on free or personal plans. Before you connect, read your provider's data policy and check your privacy settings. If your organization has a business or enterprise plan, use that account where possible.
If you're not sure which plan your organization uses, check with your IT team.
Do I need an API key?
No. You sign in with your existing Kaleidoscope account the first time you connect — there's no key to generate or manage.
Is this available on my plan?
This feature is available on Pro and Enterprise accounts. If you're not sure which plan you're on, check with your CSM.
What data can the assistant see?
The same data your Kaleidoscope login already has access to.
Can the assistant make changes to my data, or only answer questions?
The AI Integration is read-only, so it can't create, update, or delete anything in your account.
How is this different from the Developer API?
The Developer API is for a technical team building a custom integration with a generated key. The MCP integration is for asking an AI assistant questions directly — it uses your normal login instead of a key.
The MCP integration and the Developer API are built on the same underlying data, but serve different purposes:
| MCP Integration | Developer API |
Plan | Pro & Enterprise | Enterprise |
Auth | Your Kaleidoscope login | Generated API key |
Used for | Asking an AI assistant questions | Building a custom integration |
